Since the company, Alta Bicycle Share, is involved in both Melbourne Bike Share and NYC Bike Share and is partly behind the station location participation map, we should consider asking RACV and the State of Victoria to ask Alta to do the same for Melbourne.
More importantly, every person who uses Melbourne Bike Share should be lobbying to have the system exempted from the mandatory helmet law. Without the law, there would be more spontaneous usages and more demand. More demand would make it easy to get more bikes and station in the system. This could get us that station location participation map!

Outside the Fitzroy Pool could be a good spot. Also maybe the Zoo? The Botanical Gardens? Even out to Brunswick, maybe?

How about in the rubbish bin of ill-conceived ideas, until such time as Victoria's helmet laws are revoked? ;-)

Anywhere in Collingwood - way too many cars and nowhere near enough parking. Maybe the sight of bikes gleaming neatly in the afternoon sun will inspire a shift in gear (pardon the pun)..!

Clifton Hill Station. It'd be quicker to ride from Carlton/Melbourne Uni to Clifton Hill Station than travel by train down to Central Station or bus across town, and link to express trains outbound on two lines. Ease city commuting congestion during peak hour as well.

Alexandra Avenue & Chapel Street – as riding along the Yarra is a classic and busy bike route, and morning trains are packed from South Yarra into city.
